Job Description:
The Dishwasher/Prep Cook is responsible for maintaining dishes, pots, pans, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in orderly and sanitary condition. As well as filling in for food preparation work for both the restaurant and banquets.
Responsibilities Include:
Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Washes pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures
Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards
Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces
Removes trash and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage can
Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Helps load and unload supplies and product
Assists in basic food prep assignments as needed, such as cutting vegetables and proteins.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
Previous experience in similar position in a club or restaurant setting.
Have excellent knife skills.
Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and general workplace safety standards with general knowledge of Health Department requirements.
(QFO) Quality Food Operator Certification or ServSafe Certification a plus.
Good people skills; excellent communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team environment.
Friendly and welcoming customer service
Flexibility, ability to work extended or irregular hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Temperature extremes, excessive noise. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in weight.
